Modio is mobile studio using Airstream.
It was made for Tokyo Designer’s week Exhibition, as a mobile studio for Metropolitan University.

Prof. Suzuki loves Airstream.
His first one was “Atelier in a mountain 2003”, and second one was its renovation,“The Conversion of Airstream into Special living room 2009”. His enthusiasms never end. He finally started on new project as a school’s research. First he imported small Airtstream from U.S.A. and remodeled it fearlessly. He ordered to cut its body to open like a wing.

Next he designed air-framed roof. His theme was always “Architectural furniture makes a space around its own object”. So he imagined one-fourth roof and used inside space for exhibition area. The air roof swelled out in 30 seconds.

It is so to speak, evolved “Atelier in a mountain (with Airstream)　2003”. At that time, Prof. Suzuki designed dome and added Airstream by the side, but this time, the dome and Airstream were integrated into one.
We used same air-frame technology for pool in “Water Dome 2007 .”
